My name is Barbara J and I am from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This blog is specifically for stitchers from Asia except Japan.

Here is my progress over the last few months. I didn't
get as much as I had hope done but I started to
continue working on her again two weeks ago.

As at 31 Jan 2010, I am 1 month after my target date to complete this MW SAL....from page 3 and 4 , I jumped to Page 7 as I think I want to stitch all the motifs at end / corner border and move in to stitch the motifs.....my progress at Pg 7

Felt like ages since I last came here with a progress to report. I believed this is my progress update No. 9. Here it is Mary in its present state. Part 4 considered done for now.
I have recorded 14 colors todate and there shall be no more new color to add. Its getting a bit hard to decide which color should go on next and that in a way slowed me down. Sorry for the shadowy photo. Hopefully I get a better shot for my next report.

I have not been stitching much lately
but I managed to finished some motif on the
left upper part. Here is my latest progress.

I have so much fun to play with these four colors
and it turn out looks so christmassy. Isn't it? :)

thank you for approving me to participate this SAL :)

this is my current progress of Mary:

I started it just 2 weeks ago and seems like that I just can't put it down! (well, outside my study time though, as I'm also a uni student :) ) it's very enjoyable to stitch.

I changed the color scheme to match the fabric I'm going to use on the finished piece as a cushion. because my mother saw the finished pictures on the Needleprint blog and she said that she wants to see it finished as a cushion. I'm so glad that she also likes this sampler! I hope that the colors I choose look OK to you :)

I want to change it to initials of people who have special meaning in my life, but I'll stitch it later after I finish other parts. I hope I can stitch a lot of it during my 12 days of year-end break :)

Hi everyone, I have the 32 count Vintage Country Mocha
Belfast linen. I'm not going to use the suggested colors,

I decided to stitch only using four Anchor colors,
Carmine Rose (No. 45), Fudge (No. 381), Sand Stone (No. 889)
and Stone Gray (No. 1041). Hopefully it will turn out great.
Because I don't want a large piece, I will stitch 1 over 1.
Will start on it tonight! LOL :) Pretty exciting!

I am slow in Pt 3 indeed. Worked the top corner and the trees ...putting few stitches whenever I am free . Have to pick up stitching this week.

Been almost a month since I last posted an update here.

I've moved on to Part 3 and made only a very small progress this week. There's no new colors added, only from the existing palette.

MW Asia SAL, update #4

as at last Sunday , 13 Sept 2009,progress slowly as errors repeated.

BJ: my top priority to have MW finished by year end to reduce at least one wip in 2009.

I found this almost reflects the actual color of my stitched piece....yes, I finished page. 1, the ewhite flower and pot is stitched with Anchor white floss, which I prefer much as it is much alike silky smooth. Along my progress, I am eager to stitch more and more to see completion of each motif, hopefully I am consistent in my stitching mojo as I have so many WIPs in hand and with this SAL, I am at least motivated, hope to have this as FO of 2009.

I am as slow as snail in stitching this, still in Pg. 1. However, it is interesting to see the progress whenever I stitch. I am still stitching this, and make it weekly progress as well.

Here is my latest update for now. Part 2 is considered done by me and I am moving on to Part 3. You will note that I had left out the initials as I am considering to substitute Mary's for mine.

Still undecided as I am not sure if I will have enough initials to replace all that there are.

Here is my latest update on Mary. Greens added with bits of yellow. With that, my Part 1 is done.

Floss colors from update # 3 & 4 are DMC603, 598, 3713, 445 and 906.

I am slowest in this SAL....using GAST and DMC Linen to stitch on 32ct Belfast Linen, being distracted to knitting, works....my color is much to matt / mute color.. still in the beginning of 2nd motif, have to catch up faster. :P

Hi, Just a very quick post on my progressI just got back from my short holiday in Bali and Mary went with me. I managed to put in a couple of stitches every evening before bedtime, the progress was slow as I was too exhausted from exploring that Indonesian archipelago during the day. Photos of Mary from the hotel grounds, Melasti Beach Bungalow in Kuta. Mary had to be shot in the transparent cover to protect the fabric from dust and dirt that the statue had accumulated for withstanding the weather, LOL.Mary resting on the couch in the lounge area with a Balinese stone carving background that Bali is so famous for.A closeup photo of the progress I've made.

I am able to work a bit more on Mary Part 1 this weekend. Added are DMC 304, 221 and 598.However, selecting the next color to go on the fabric is giving me a hard time. I must constantly stay focused on the colors from the ceramics and in a way I want my colors to coordinate and blend with each other as well. Its a bit scary to add in the greens or yellow.

Hi there,
I just got on the train, and haven't travel very far yet. Here is my first progress . I am working on a different color palette, hoping to create the colors of the Nyonya Ceramic Wares on my 32ct Belfast White Linen. My greatest fear is the possibility of me straying away from this idea as I goes on since intuition is all I have and the mind can be so fickle.

Fiber colors todate : DMC 760, 221, 3810 and 3326
I am enjoying seeing all the different variations of Mary.

Hi! MargaretW here from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Glad to be part of Asia's MW SAL. I am using 32ct tea-dyed linen (my very first attempt at tea dye-ing) and the DMC threads listed. I will have to see whether some of the lighter flosses need to be changed to a darker shade so that it will not 'disappear' into the fabric. Here's my progress so far, slow and hopefully steady!
